The Story Behind Redline

The story of Redline Micro Fibre Towels actually started when I was about seven years old.

I grew up in Keysborough, in Melbourne's south-east, during the 1970s and 80s. We didn't have a lot of money, but my parents worked incredibly hard.

One of my earliest memories of cars was actually my first car — a little pedal car. I loved it, and looking back, I guess the passion for cars started pretty early.

Dad worked his way up the corporate ladder at Nylex Plastics in Mentone, but outside of work, he had a passion for cars.

On Friday nights, we'd bring home a car he'd bought, have dinner, and then spend the next four or five hours in the carport cleaning and detailing it.

The next day we'd head to a mate's wrecking yard in Springvale, find the parts we needed, get the car roadworthy, finish the detail and park it on Springvale Road with a "FOR SALE" sign.

Sometimes we'd buy a car on Friday and sell it by Sunday.

And back then, there were no microfibre towels. We used old T-shirts and whatever pieces of fabric we could find. Looking back, I often think about how much better, that job would have been with the microfibre towel technology we have today.

Those weekends with Dad taught me a lot.

- Work hard.

- Take pride in what you do.

- Look after the details.

And always keep pushing forward.

Sadly, Dad passed away in 2018, but those memories never left me. Every time I clean a car, I think about those nights in the carport and the lessons he taught me. That's really where Redline began.

We took our time developing our range because I wanted to create towels that I would have been proud to use back then — premium quality, practical, and at the right price.

So Redline isn't just a microfibre towel business. For me, it's a little piece of my Dad, my childhood, my passion for cars and the values he gave me. Stay tuned for more Red-Line Products as we aim to get you the customer the best quality at a competitive price.
